GoodDYEyoung launched just over 2 years ago, upon Parahoy 2016 landing back in port. This idea of color solutions for creative expression was co-founded by Hayley WIlliams + stylist Brian O'Connor. We haven't been able to get enough GDY in our lives since we opened! Their product is unrivaled in its category, and we couldn't be more proud to professionally partner with them.
2017 brought the launch of Poser Paste, GDY's wash-away hair makeup. Currently, 4 shades are available in the Paste, all inter-mixable like their semi-permanent color. Formulated with bees wax and bergamot oil, this highly pigmented product delivers coverage on even the darkest hair.
When Parahoy 2018 was announced, we knew GDY would have some treats in store for the cruisers. As the big day of leaving port approached, we had been chatting with Megan over at GDY headquarters, and we were asked to be part of a surprise pop-up for ten lucky winners. Knowing that Brian would be doing a theater Q+A about the brand with Kazia Pfuntner of Local Honey, also giving away a semi-permanent makeover in the ship salon, and a GDY fan meet-up would happen on-board: the Poser Paste styling pop-up was a perfect cherry on top. It was surreal hearing our name announced at the end of the Q+A session, announcing that some of the attendees were about to win styles from our team as well as Kazia. (What a dream to work beside a Local Honey stylist- check them out!)
GDY has quickly grown as a community. It was incredible seeing Hayley + Brian's creative plan bubbling just under the surface for years, knowing something amazing was to come. What exceeded expectation was the fast-growing family surrounding the brand. Whether you're a DIY punk kid or a frequent salon visitor, eccentric or more natural- seeing people connect on the common ground of this company is just amazing. So many conversations were started on board Parahoy BECAUSE of hair color. BECAUSE of self-expression + style. We were able to meet so many other hair counterparts on board, answer questions about what we love to do daily, and even made some new friends!
Thank you, GDY, for the endless inspiration, and for welcoming us to be guest artists. Dreams do come true.
